Powder coat curing process?
Ok my brother recently got a powdercoating gun and we don’t have anything to cure the powder with. I’m wanting to coat a bike frame but a conventional oven is too small. What methods ate there for curing at home. Could I use lights or anything at home? Thank you
Electricity can be used to heat up metal easily if you know what you are doing. You’d just have to find some heavy gage wire and hook it up to each end of the bike frame. Would probably have to go with 220v also. Of coarse you would need to know how to control the electricity and do it safely.
will a 220v oven work off 110v?
i am using it as a Powder Coating Oven. i dont have 220v in my garage.
the oven is electric.
will it still heat up to 400 degrees?
will it just take longer?
i dont have the option to put 220 in because i rent and the fuse box is in my neighbors garage.
No.
The coils would certainly heat up (just not very much), but none of the control circuitry will function.
You might pull the back off and see if there are any voltage tap selection jumpers, typically manufacturers are global supplies now, and instead of making two different models they provide (internal) jumpers that can be selected to set the line voltage used…
Do you have the manual?
What are your family’s favorite Thanksgiving dishes & recipes?
I’m cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner for my small family – 3 people – and I’m trying to pick all our favorites. Mostly what I’m stuck on are the side-dishes & veggies. So far we’re planning:
Turkey (duh) gonna try to do the traditional oven-roasting thing …..
Dressing (in with the turkey I guess)
Corn & Green Bean Casserole
Stuffed Eggs
Potato Salad
Blueberry Cheesecake
Pecan Pie (w/vanilla icecream =)
(Sweet Potatoes w/ Marshmallows (maybe – seems like too many sweets ??)
Also if y’all have any recipes to share… I’ll get the ball rolling with:
Puppy Chow
Ingredients -
* 9 cups Chex® Cereal (either rice, wheat, chocolate or combine them)
* 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
* 1/2 cup peanut butter
* 1/4 cup butter or margarine
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Directions -
1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, stir together chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Microwave uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
Oops… yeah I forgot to list the cranberries but we’ll definitely have ‘em. Um, is stuffing the same as dressing? Mom always just called it "turkey & dressing".
Hey yeah – finger food tray – great idea!
I’m trying to decide between pecan or pumpkin pie.. leaning toward pecan ’cause I know that we want the blueberry cheesecake.
this year we are having:
turkey
stuffing
mashed potatoes
gravy
brussel sprouts
corn on the cob
dinner rolls
pumpkin pie
dutch apple pie
I would gladly share a recipe with you but all my recipes are in my other computer which isn’t working right. I will have to dig through all of my old papers to look for my Grandma’s dutch apple pie recipe.
