What is a good alternative to powder coating?
ive been wanting to paint the rims and lugs on my drumset and powder coating seems to be the best thing to use but its too expensive and id only use it once. is there anything else i could use that would be less but have the same quality?
Powder coating is a tough and durable system. But drum sets were painted long before Powder Coating was discovered (1980’s). I would recommend a air dry alkyd for an easy, durable finish. To increase the final look and to make the coating more impact resistance choose a 2 component Urethane system. Hobby shops should offer a small kit.
